Annotation

This article examines the problem of the development of theological thought in the Old Testament concept of the Kingdom of Heaven in the hymnographic texts of ancient and contemporary authors. The liturgical texts of the Orthodox Church, formed over many centuries, reflect the depth of theological thought in the writings of devotees of piety. This makes it possible to rethink the concept of the 'Kingdom of Heaven' not only from the perspective of the theological sciences, but also through the prism of hymnographic works. This new perspective will also enable contemporary hymnographers to correctly reflect the teaching of the Orthodox Church on the concept of the "kingdom of heaven" in their work.

Keywords

orthodox worship, hymnography, hymnody, hymns of the movable liturgical circle of the Orthodox Church, the Lenten Triodion, the Flowery Triodion, the Minea, the Kingdom of Heaven.
