Progress and the good of man

Annotation

In modern world, common good is turned out to be inseparably connected with the notion of “progress”. Today all parts of human civilization are fully pervaded by technologies and aspires to be the key tool for solving our human problems. But technical advances in themselves without holistic world outlook in society that adequately reflects the reality and enables people to perceive and strive for the true good for the humans makes further progress uncontrollable and agreement on the acceptable sphere of application of technological achievements unattainable. That, in its turn, engenders a crisis in the society, which is if rendered from the Greek means judgement. That is why the ideological problems underlie a basis of any crisis and spiritual and moral condition of the society consisting of metaphysically free people is subject to judgement in case of any crisis. Nowadays we have been witnessing spiritual and moral crisis which appears to have stemmed from the loss of ontological basis of not human’s life only but the surrounding reality as well.
