Althusser’s interpretation of the political philosophy of Machiavelli

Annotation

The article is devoted to the original interpretation of the political thought of Machiavelli from the great french philosopher Louis Althusser. The focus of this context is paid to the materialistic nature of reading the text of the Italian thinker, which allowed the Althusser himself to describe Machiavelli as a discoverer directly materialistic understanding of the political sphere. In turn, the text of the article also produces a comparative analysis of alternative approaches to the interpretation of Machiavellist policies, which, despite qualitative differences, have intersection points.
