The formation of symbolic and semiotic imagery in the story of A. Zolotarev “Across the shrines”
Annotation
The novel by A. A. Zolotarev “Across the Shrines”, conceived in the first post-revolutionary years and completed in 1949, from the point of view of themes and issues, does not fit at all into the mainstream of Soviet literature of socialist realism of the 1920s and 40s. If you read it without knowing the biography of the author and the history of its creation, then this thing could be attributed, rather, as prose of the pre-revolutionary period or attributed to the emigrant nostalgic prose of the first wave of Russian emigration. The content and form are equally addressed to the bygone traditional culture of Russia in its unity of Orthodoxy and ancient archetypal manifestations. At the same time, the story is a fertile material for analyzing the symbolic figurative system, the role of the chronotope, the role of traditional folk folklore poetics, which manifested itself in the formation of a literary text. The purpose of writing this article is both a philological analysis of the text of the story and to draw attention to the work of Alexei Alekseevich Zolotarev.
