Annotation

The article is dedicated to the problematic of the semiotic interpretation of one of the most striking and mystical apocalyptic images — the image of the Babylon- harlot. In the frame of exegetical investigations the Babylon- harlot is associated / identificated with different cities, states, religious societies, with totality of the fighters in general and even with famous political and religious persons. Among all exegetical versions directed to the interpretation o f the image of the Babylon- harlot the most popular in the interconfessional field has the early Christian version where the Babylon- harlot is associated / identificated with Rome. The confessional factor puts its corrections in the practice of the creation of methodical approach to its comprehension and further development. The variety of the methods and approaches reflected in numerous forms of the interpretation not only the idea of the Babylon- harlot but also the idea of Rome as a denotation of the image of the Babylon- harlot. The confessional specific of these forms and the methods aproaches that are used in their creation in the process of their historical utilization is the main subject of the investigation the report of which is presented in this article.
