INTELLECTUAL HERITAGE OF RUSSIAN THINKERS AS A PREREQUISITE FOR JUDEO-ORTHODOX DIALOGUE

Annotation

The article is devoted to the analysis of interaction and specificity of theological discourse in the context of interreligious dialogue between Jewish and Orthodox religious tradition. Since Orthodox Christianity is the largest religious association in Russia, the focus is on the perception of Jewish theological trends in the context of Russian cultural and theological tradition (through the prism of hermeneutics). Spiritual currents in the theology of Orthodoxy are expressed in a special way of life that is consonant with the mystical tradition of Hasidism, which contributed to the spread of this particular form of Judaism in Russia. The cultural context of the Orthodox Church, which underwent various metamorphoses, nevertheless favoured a rapprochement with mystical Judaism. In this regard, the interaction between the two confessions of different religions seems to be the most harmonious in Russia, however, in the article we will show that the harmony of the different is possible under the condition of spiritual distance and mutual understanding, preserving its own identity. Clarifying the Orthodox concept in the context of interaction with Judaism will help open new possibilities for the pragmatic mission of interreligious dialogue between the two Abrahamic religions.
