Annotation

The article offers a new version of the reading of the poem “Oro”, which the priest Pavel Florensky wrote during his stay in exile in the Far East and in the Solovetsky camp. This last work of the remarkable Russian philosopher, scientist and theologian is considered in the context of those studies of the essence of religion that he conducted all his life. The evidence of Florensky's scientific approach to the problems of human religiosity is given, his work on collecting the results of historical and empirical studies of religion is noted. The conclusions obtained by Florensky as a result of his own developments in the field of the history of philosophy, the history and psychology of religion are taken into account. His main conclusion stands out, according to which the essence of religion is reduced to a religious cult, whose task is to establish inner harmony in a man. The author of the article comes to the conclusion that the poem “Oro”, which was written during acquaintance with when getting acquainted with the nature of permafrost, among other things, expresses all the main results that Florensky came to in the course of his study of religion.
