Hesychasm and the crisis of European metaphysics: G. Palamas and F. Nietzsche in the context of "energy anthropology" by S. Khoruzhy
Annotation
The article is devoted to a comparative analysis of the teachings of G. Palamas on deification and the teachings of F. Nietzsche on the superman in the context of the conceptual developments of S. Khoruzhy. The ontological and philosophical-anthropological potential of the heritage of hesychasm is explicated. The author substantiates the thesis that the appeal to hesychasm in modern philosophical discourse is due to the situation of exhaustion of the potential of European metaphysics. The article shows that F. Nietzsche departs from the main principles of rationalistic metaphysics of Western philosophy and in his doctrine of the superman reveals a number of very significant intersections with the doctrine of deification by G. Palamas. The problematic aspects of the comparative study of the teachings of Nietzsche and Palamas are identified and analyzed. The author comes to the conclusion that Nietzsche's doctrine of the superman cannot be attributed to a biological, naturalistic model, but to a greater extent gravitates towards the anthropology of hesychasm.
