The kingdom of heaven as the subject of free choice in the hymnography of the orthodox church

Annotation

This article deals with an urgent problem of the Orthodox Church of the modern times, i.e. of hymnographic texts and their role in the individual’s spiritual life. Are those texts only a part of Orthodox worship, or do they have to turn into a certain basis for personal development of each of the Christians? Alongside the present research finds proofs for the soteriology doctrine that states the necessity of person’s free will expression in their striving to achieve the Kingdom of Heaven.
