Annotation

The article analyzes the main non-mediated and mediated cognitive abilities that were included in the teaching of Aristotle’s knowledge. Sensory perception and mind were considered direct, logos was recognized as a mediated form of cognition. Comparison of the subject spheres of sensuality and speculation is carried out, their advantages and disadvantages identified by Aristotle, the measure of truth and reliability are discussed. The position on the difference between speculation and thinking is defended. The content of logistic knowledge and its unity with sensibility and speculation in the understanding of Aristotle is considered. The abilities that are the product of the interaction of the logos and the fundamental non-mediated are analyzed. The hierarchy of cognitive abilities and the nature of the relationship between the higher and the lower are described.
