The article discusses the similarities and differences between Zeno’s aporias and arguments proving the necessity of relativistic effects in the special theory of relativity. The transition from physical to geometric argumentation in the process of SRT emergence is stated. An analysis of the measure of the unity of the content of sensory experience and geometric thinking in SRT is made. An analysis of the geometric basis of relativistic arguments is made. It is shown that relativistic effects are rooted in the identification of the true and the apparent.
