Annotation

Andrei Nikolaevich Yegunov (1895–1968), who received an excellent philological education in St. Petersburg-Petrograd before the revolution of 1917, was able later, in the most difficult time for the history of the country, to prove himself as an outstanding worker of national culture. He made a significant contribution not only to the development of Russian literature, both as a poet and writer, and as a critical researcher, but also to the development of Russian philological science, in particular, to the improvement of the art of translation, especially from ancient languages.
