JEAN LACROIX AND IMMANUEL KANT IN THE SEARCH OF THE PHILOSOPHICAL FOUNDATIONS OF LABOR ACTIVITY AS A SOURCE OF PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT OF A HUMAN
Annotation
The article is devoted to the study of the philosophical foundations of labor activity
as a source of personal development of a human in the personalism of Jean Lacroix and in
the teachings of Immanuel Kant. The stated research goal of the publication is achieved by
solving the following tasks: explaining the forced nature of labor and analyzing its religious
and philosophical origins. The results of the study are subjected to a comparative analysis. As a
result, the following conclusions are drawn. Both Lacroix and Kant believe that labor, even in
the form of forced activity, can be understood as a way of creative self-realization of a human
and his formation as a personality. Based on this, philosophers give a positive connotation to
the religious and philosophical origins of labor, which are based on the theological concept of
a “cultural mandate”. At the same time, the difference in views between Lacroix and Kant is on
the issue of the source of the “cultural mandate”. For Lacroix, such a source is the Personality of
God, and for Kant, impersonal Nature or Providence.
