The problem of relevance of archaic religious experience
Annotation
In the article we consider the problem of relevance of archaic religious experience, the polemic of the ideas of Claude Lévi-Strauss and Lucien Levy-Bruhl, the peculiarities of archaic thinking and its assessment from the position of the British ethnographic evolutionary school, psychological interpretation of the basis of religious experience. Archaic consciousness is also considered from the position of Eduardo Cohn’s anthropology «beyond man». The question of the ontological foundations of archaic religious experience is raised.
