Annotation

The article examines the philosophical and biblical foundations of paremias as components of traditional folklore. The characteristic of traditional folklore as the core of traditional culture is given. Within the framework of traditional folklore, paroemias are considered, understood as a hyperonym of the terms «proverb» and «saying». Being an encyclopedia of people’s life, paremias, passed down from generation to generation, are a verbalized experience of people’s knowledge of the world. The philosophical foundations of the paremias, understood as wisdom, an unwritten form of philosophizing, are clarified.
